It is medium to large in size, round in shape, and known for its firm, juicy texture and thick skin. The flesh is bright white, crisp, and tart, with a refreshing acidity balanced by a hint of sweetness. Granny Smith is also notable for its high antioxidant activity and has the highest phenolic content among apple varieties, making it both nutritionally rich and health-promoting.

Gala Apple is a thin-skinned apple variety with a color that varies depending on ripeness, typically showing a yellow-orange base accented with pink to red stripes. Its flesh is creamy yellow, crisp, and dense, offering a mildly sweet flavor with a subtle floral aroma. Fuji Apple is easily recognized by its yellow-green skin with attractive pink speckles. It has a dense, crisp, and juicy texture with a matte white flesh that is clean and firm. The flavor is predominantly sweet and very refreshing, especially when slightly chilled. Modì apples have a balanced, mild flavor, combining sweetness with a subtle tartness, making them refreshing and versatile for both fresh eating and culinary use.

Golden Delicious Apple is a large, yellowish-green skinned variety known for its very sweet flavor. It is prone to bruising and shriveling, so it must be handled and stored carefully. Golden Delicious is highly valued for fresh eating, as well as for use in salads, applesauce, and apple butter. It is widely cultivated in all major warm apple-growing regions worldwide. From a grower’s perspective, it is an attractive variety because it is easy to cultivate and has an excellent storage life after harvest. To enjoy its best flavor, the fruit should be allowed to fully ripen on the tree until it turns a rich golden yellow.
